How Often do I Clean my Brushes?
This is just a quick little post to talk to all of my Lovelies about cleaning your cosmetic brushes!
Okay! So over the past few weeks/months I have been experimenting to see how long I could go before I felt like I needed to clean my brushes. (Now I know the time for me could be different for you, but I am going on the basis of using the same foundation and concealer brush every day - seven days a week.) The brushes I use are the EcoTools ones and they are pretty great, though if you are after an airbrushed look then I suggest looking at another brand.
There, just a little review for you to get you started! :)
I have found that cleaning my brushes every 5-7 days works pretty well for me, though I will admit that by the end of the time period my brushes have become a little stiffer and courser to work with but overall they are still useable. I guess this means that I can either wash them on a Friday so they are all nice and lovely for the weekend or I can wash them on a Sunday night and have them fresh and ready for Monday morning.
FYI I do use an all natural liquid hand soap to wash my brushes in because it is soft on the bristles but also cleans them really well. If you would like me to tell you more about my brush cleaning methods let me know, either on here, Instagram or Ask.fm. All of which have links all over this blog.

May Favourites!
Hey lovelies!
It's about time I did a May favourites and this time I have some amazing products to show you gals and guys! This month I have decided I would do a Food and Music favourites! This is just a tester to see how well it goes, if you guys don't like it let me know!
Each item has Australian prices and the store in which I purchased them from.
Makeup:
- EcoTools Flat Foundation Brush - Priceline ($10.99)
In all honesty I have had this brush for about a year and a half but I never really used it because I was really into sponges at the time. But now that I have less time to get ready in the morning I have been really loving my Flat Foundation Brush. The bristles in this brush are so smooth and soft against my skin (for synthetic bristles these babies are so amazing and smooth), not to mention there is absolutely NO shedding! I use this brush six out of seven days a week and I regularly clean my brushes so I feel like I kinda know what synthetic brushes are good and what are a bit dodgy.
Whenever I feel like this brush has gone to makeup brush heaven I will be repurchasing this amazing brush!

- Yes to Carrots Hydrating Shower Gel 500mL - Priceline ($12.99)
Okay so I have kinda sensitive skin (especially my legs!) and its probably due to the fact that I have been shaving my legs for aggggges! Anyway I am pleased to say that I have found my new favourite shaving gel! Now I know this is a shower gel and NOT a shaving gel BUUUUUT it is seriously the most perfect shaving gel! (I am saying this as someone that cannot even use Organic shaving gels because they cause me to get a massive rash that hurts so badly!)

You would think this gel would smell like carrots, but it doesn't have a carrot-y smell or anything even remotely carrot related. Personally I really do like this shower gel because I can use it as both a shower gel and a shaving gel. The consistency of this gel is thick but not too thick, its just the right consistency for a shaving gel.
I will definitely be repurchasing this when I run out, it is so perfect and until my skin gets used to it and starts rashing up again it is the perfect shaving gel.
- Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes - Priceline ($9.99)
So I have been using a liquid makeup remover for a few years but recently I ran out of my usual one and to my sadness Priceline didn't have any in stock! I thought I would mix it up a bit and try some towelettes just until they got more liquid back in stock. But now all I can do is thank them for making me try something new! These towelettes are so beautiful! They smell so good! It's almost like you could just take a bite right out of them! They just smell so fresh!
Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes comes in a pack of 30, but in all honesty you only need one wipe to do your whole face and remove all of your makeup! These little babies are also excellent when you just want to re-fresh your face (like when you come out of the gym and have been sweating up a storm, just wipe your face with one of these and let it air dry! It will result in your skin feeling fresh and clean.)
Food:
So I have been a little bit sick in May and as a result have been through quite a few different brands of cough lollies/lozenges!
- Strepsils Cool (instant cooling sensation with double antibacterial action) - $
Right now I am in love with the Strepsils Cool lozenges! Not only do they taste okay (kinda like tea tree oil but not as strong) they also work! I won't lie and say they totally work and cure your sore throat, but they do a pretty decent job and keep it calm for a few hours.

My Daily Makeup!
Hello Lovlies!
I thought I would do a daily makeup blog because some of my friends have been asking for it and I figured why not! If you want to know about any of the products I use then please leave a comment in the comments section, or alternatively leave it on my Ask.fm page which can be found in a previous blog.
1. I begin everyday with washing my face and using my Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub. The unclogging scrub works with little blue beads scrubbing against your skin and washing away all of the dead skin.
2. I then moisturise my whole face and half way down my neck with basically any SPF15 oil free moisturiser. Using moisturiser in summer is really helpful because my skin is so pale that without the sunscreen in the moisturiser I would probably get burnt.
3. I begin with aplying my MAC Matchmaster SPF15 foundation. I don't totally love this foundation, but because I bought a $60 foundation I am determined to use it all up! (See March and April favourites blog for more details on the MAC Matchmaster SPF15 foundation.
4. I then apply my concealer to all of the redness on my face focusing on any pimply areas.
Step 5 and 6 is basically skipping through anything else you might do when you do your makeup. This is only because I don't tend to have much time in the morning and I want to make everything as simple as possible for myself.
5. I then put my pressed powder on to set all of my foundation and concealer. (and to help contain those pesky oils!)
6. Lastly I fill in my eyebrows. The only reason I do this is because I was born into a family that doesn't have very thick eyebrows and in order for my face to look like eyebrows exist on it I find that I HAVE to put a little bit of brown on them everyday.
From here I would normally say that I was done, but if I was going out or participating in something special that day I would do steps 7-10
7. For when I want to put eyeshadow on I start off with putting down my eyeshadow primer. My eyelids are so oily it is really important for me to prime my lids to stop my eyeshadow and eyeliner smudging.
8. I would then apply my desired eyeshadow with the darkest colour on the outer side of my lid, the middle shade on the middle of my lid and the lightest shade on the inner corner of my lid.
9. If I feel like wearing eyeliner that day I would use a liquid eyeliner (as I find it stays and doesn't smudge for longer than a crayon or pencil liner). But, the way I apply it is by starting about a quarter way in my eyeline and working my way (using tiny strokes) to the end of my line, from there I slightly wing out the line. I repeat the same process on the other side.
10. Lastly mascara! As I use a relatively natural mascara (I have really sensitive eyelashes) I apply one coat to my upper lashes, wait for it to dry and then apply another coat. I then put one coat on my bottom lashes and then I am done.
